Podcast Production Assistant

Position summary: As an integral part of the team, the Podcast Production Assistant works to develop and implement our impact storytelling strategy to creatively showcase our community and initiatives to further Nyah Project’s mission.


Duration:
Minimum of three (3) months, with flexibility.

Hours: Approx. 5 hours per week (or 20 hours per month), with flexibility based on availability.

Employment Type: Unpaid internship, can be used for class/internship credit or volunteer hours.

Location: Fully Remote

Start Date: Immediately

Responsibilities May Include:

  • Provide general support to production team and staff to create podcast

  • Coordinate with podcast guests, production team, marketing team, and other external parties to maintain project schedule

  • Coordinate & quality check episodes and transcripts to ensure they meet standards 

  • Cut and edit audio clips for podcast episodes and marketing materials as needed 

  • Create episode outlines and provide episode content to marketing team

  • Manage podcast mailing list and content for podcast e-newsletter

  • Contribute to and support podcast creative as needed

  • Monitor distribution channels and provide monthly episode analytics updates

  • Manage digital content library and archives 

  • Assist with related storytelling projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • Organization. Excellent organizational skills, able to maintain/track production calendar, keep podcast show on schedule. 

  • Production Experience/Interest. 1-2 years experience as a production assistant, and/or 1 year experience working with podcasts or broadcasts preferred. 

  • Technologically-savvy. Proficient with Google Suite, Asana, Slack, Canva, SquareSpace, or other graphic design, audio editing, and/or podcast production-related software. 

  • Storyteller. Able to create strong, cohesive brand presence across various digital platforms and tell stories for greater impact. 

  • Creative. Effectively translates recordings into appealing + impactful content. Experience with content creation, AV editing, blogging, and/or graphic design is a plus.

  • Communication. Strong verbal and written communication skills with people at all levels from diverse backgrounds. 

  • Detail oriented. Unswerving attention to detail 

  • Independent. Ability to work effectively in a self-paced work environment to meet production deadlines.

  • Can-do attitude. Highly motivated, positive and helpful attitude
