June 15, 2023 (Miami) | Nyah Project is thrilled to be a recipient of The Miami Foundation’s Community Grants for the first time ever! The two-year investment totaling $50,000 will provide much-needed general operating support for Nyah Project to continue our work around college access for underrepresented South Florida youth.

Nyah Project is one of 95 Community Grants awardees in 2023, out of 697 total proposals from the Greater Miami nonprofit community. In total, The Miami Foundation invested $5,450,000 into the community over the next two years with partnerships from the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation and Miami-Dade County.

The Foundation awarded grants in six categories:

  1. Access to Health & Wellness

  2. Economic Stability

  3. Inclusion

  4. Inspiring Arts & Culture

  5. Sustainable Environment

  6. Thriving Youth & Families

This investment also helps us towards our 2023 fundraising goal, in which we have two 1-to-1 matching challenge grant opportunities totaling $100K from the Knight Foundation and Career Source South Florida.
