RECAP: CAP Community Pilot Program with MDCPS

Nyah Project recently completed its first College Access Practitioner (CAP) Community series, which ran from November 2022 to March 2023, in partnership with Miami-Dade County Public Schools (MDCPS) Division of Student Services. MDCPS is the fourth largest school district in the nation, and Nyah Project was thrilled that they had reached out to us in January 2022 based on our success rates in getting underrepresented students into college with scholarships.

As part of the agreement, we trained up to 40 MDCPS college counselors, advisors and administrators in our Access Methodology to more effectively and equitably support their diverse high school students with college access. In addition, students of the CAP Community participants were offered free enrollment in Access Online, Nyah Project's online college access strategy coaching platform.

The pilot program saw 36 active participants over the 5 deep dive sessions; 100% said they would recommend participating in the CAP Community to a colleague.
